Today the ninth special limited-time pack of the season made its way into MLB The Show 16. For the most part these packs have proven to be questionable investments as the promise of “increased chances” at pulling higher valued cards has remained pretty hollow. Increasing already miniscule odds by slight amounts does not justify paying at over four or more times the price of a regular pack and it might be more wise to spend directly in the marketplace instead.
The Draft Early Choose Wisely pack is the cheapest of the special packs released to-date but there’s a catch to that. At 1,500 Stubs it includes only four player cards. When compared to the eight total cards in the regular 1,000 Stub packs it’s essentially three times the price. The other primary difference between them is the usual mention of an “increased chance” at drawing Golds or Diamonds. That would be the main appeal then but again, it’s a vague claim, and because of that it’s unclear if the pack is a smart investment to make.
The packs also contain the first opportunity to grab some new Rookie Flashback cards and one new Legend. Of course all packs are reliant on luck so results will vary.
