As we near this year’s Wimbledon finals, several people have asked us recently about the state of tennis video games; or, more specifically, exactly when (or if) the new generation of systems will finally have one. After all, tennis games used to be popular and numerous. From Virtua Tennis to Top Spin to Grand Slam and others, it’s been an unhappy surprise that none of those franchises appear to be coming back any time soon. Rich and Bryan get together to discuss their thoughts on the reasons for the lack of tennis being represented these days, and rattle off some expected reasons (as well as at least one unexpected) for the sports’ demise on consoles.
